Family run Villa Pambuffetti provides luxurious accommodation in an historic building surrounded by an extensive park from which you can enjoy a magnificent view all over Umbria.  It is situated just outside Montefalco's main medieval walls.  The villa boasts beautiful decor, an antique fireplace and original furnishings.  Set within its own garden you will find a lovely outdoor pool and solarium.   The restaurant is locally renowned for its excellent cuisine.  The family produce their own wine locally and their own olive oil.  Montefalco is a quiet hill town with tiny cobbled streets, most of them too narrow for even a small car. Spectacular views can be had from Montefalco. It is called "the balcony of Umbria". Montefalco is famous for two of Umbria's most distinctive wines, Sagrantino and Sagrantino Passito. Within The church of San Francesco are frescos by Benozzo Gozzoli, Peruino, Tiberio d'Assisi and others.  Why we chose this hotel:  We first visited the restaurant of this hotel as we'd been hearing about it for years and decided it was worth the one hour drive to eat there.  We were charmed by the wonderful hospitality we received from Maurio and Alessandra, the owners, and were very impressed with the dinner and wine we had there.  They told us all about the history of the hotel, the family and the wine and olive oil they produce themselves.  We were even more excited when we went back later to see the rooms and the rest of the hotel.  Guests will feel immediately at home here in this impressive building with its lovely woodwork and beautiful architecture.  Mauro and Alessandra, make sure everyone feels totally at home.

"Enjoyed the week in Montefalco. The hotel is quirky and I liked the informality and the feeling that we could make it 'our home' for the week. Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and charming.  The visits were excellent. All in all a really fun week with the right size group, and would come again!"
